Protestants and Catholics have distinct perspectives on the nature of the church. The term “catholic” refers to an all-encompassing religion, and the Catholic Church, which the pope leads, sees itself as the sole true religion in the entire world.
On the other hand, the Protestant Churches that emerged from the Reformation and are referred to as “Evangelical” churches because they are “faithful to the Gospel” do not constitute a single, unified Church. There are tens of thousands of various denominations in existence worldwide. Each of these innumerable churches is equal in status.
Is Adam Kinzinger a Catholic or a Christian?
Adam Kinzinger practices protestant Christianity, one branch of the religion. Catholicism is a different branch of Christianity.
Protestants and Catholics have distinct perspectives on the Bible’s meaning and authority. The Bible is the “Sola Skriptura,” the only book in which God revealed himself to humans and through which they can have communion with him. Martin Luther made this abundantly clear to Protestant Christians.
Catholics, on the other hand, do not rely solely on the Bible for their beliefs. In addition to the Holy Scriptures, they are also bound by the traditions of the Roman Catholic Church.
