Avatar: The Way of Water follows the story of a man who will do anything to protect his family. The movie takes place over a decade after the events of the first film, where we find Jake Sully (played by Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (played by Zoe Saldaña) happily living together with their children - elder son Neteyam (played by Jamie Flatters), younger son Lo'ak (played by Britain Dalton), and daughter Tuktirey or Tuk (played by Trinity Jo-Li Bliss). They have also adopted Kiri, who was created from the avatar of the late Dr. Grace Augustine (also played by Sigourney Weaver). The Na'vi children are good friends with Miles Socorro or Spider (played by Jake Champion), who is the son of the first film's antagonist, Colonel Miles Quaritch (played by Stephen Lang). Despite being human, Spider spends most of his time with the Na'vi people and tries to emulate their way of life. Everything was going smoothly for the Na’vi community until the humans, also known as ‘Sky People’, returned to Pandora after a decade. Within a year, they constructed a massive settlement that was even bigger than the last time. However, things got even more complicated when the antagonist from the first film, Colonel Miles Quaritch, returned from the dead. He was brought back as a Recombinant, which means that he was an avatar with human memories embedded in him. Miles' mission was to seek revenge from Jake Sully and Neytiri for the damage caused to RDA’s structures and railway lines by the Na’vi community. Jake realized that the RDA forces were after him, and he didn't want the rest of the Na’vi population to suffer as a result. As the humans return to Pandora, Jake Sully and his family fear for their safety. The humans want revenge on the Na'vi community for causing damage to their structures and railway lines. To protect his loved ones, Jake decides to leave the Na'vi settlement in the forest and seek refuge with the Metkayina tribe. This tribe worships the sea and their bodies are more suited for underwater activities. Initially, they refuse to take in Jake and his family, but eventually, they allow them to assimilate and learn their way of life. In the meantime, Miles, who has been resurrected as an avatar embedded with human memories, kidnaps Spider and tries to track down Jake, Neytiri, and their children. The rest of the film follows the outcome of these events
