Erich’s father Allan Schwer lived in his hometown Bedminster, New Jersey. He passed away aged 65 on 6th July 2022 and hence could not witness her son on the show. Erich posted a warm note in his father’s memory on his official Instagram account on 9th July 2022.

Erich’s father was an appendiceal cancer patient and was fighting it for years. He passed away on 6th July 2022, five days before the premier of the 19th season of “The Bachelorette”.
He was in an ICU for more than a month before the hometown date was shot. He had undergone three rounds of chemotherapy but could not stand it any longer.
