Work is underway on the family fun center in Bettendorf. It’s the latest step toward completing the BettPlex. The multi-million dollar sports complex will share a wall with High 5.
The company, based in Texas, plans to offer a 32-lane bowling alley, laser tag, arcade games, a restaurant and lounge.
That will accompany the state of the art playing fields and courts at the BettPlex.
Tourism authorities expect it to business. “We’ve been waiting for an amazing place like this in the Quad Cities,” Molly Otting Carlson said. “People from all over — 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 hours — will drive to events like this.”
BettPlex is being built near the corner of Middle Road and Forest Grove road alongside Interstate 80.
Construction crews broke ground in July. They’re expected to have it done by next summer.
