Throughout Downtown Davenport, businesses are working to help their neighbors recover.
Boozies Bar and Grill raised funds Saturday afternoon for the relief effort.
The restaurant’s manager said the staff approached her looking for a way to give back.
“We just wanted to think of a way to help pitch in. To do something, give something back because these are our neighbors and they’re our friends,” said Monica McKown, Boozies Bar and Grill’s Operations Manager.
They’re donating all their tips and holding raffles to the Grow Quad Cities Fund – Iowa that was created through Flood Fest benefit concert.
McKown said, “It’s been amazing to see the community all work together and step and join in the effort.”
The restaurant also said businesses that are still open are feeling the ripple effects of the flooding including lower foot traffic.
They’re also encouraging people to shop local.
