With love, Christopher, a dear son, brother, and friend. The world’s brightest, funniest, and most compassionate young man. He attended Beacon High School in Manhattan, where he achieved straight A’s and participated in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) and chemical summer internships.

He’s only fifteen years old. He’d rush home from school to get started on his homework. My brother and I were really close; we shared a million inside jokes and talked about the world on a regular basis. I used to drive around town with him, playing video games and taking him to Six Flags. We also went to Starbucks on a weekly basis. Every summer, we would go on a family vacation. My parents admired him and were overjoyed with his achievements.

He was ultimately able to travel to Puerto Rico and relocate to Singapore. In June 2022, he wrote out his ambitions and dreams, which included getting a perfect 4.0 GPA, enrolling at Harvard or MIT, gaining a Black Belt in karate, majoring in chemistry, becoming a Chess Grand Master, and having fun. His life was taken by a lethal overdose. He was never one to experiment with drugs and found it difficult to swallow even a single pill. He had been in the hospital since 4 a.m. on October 15, where physicians were doing everything they could to clear his system and stabilize his heart.

A MARS machine was cleaning his organs, while an ECMO machine was keeping his heart beating. On October 17th, his death was confirmed. He was innocent and gentle, reserved and sensitive. We would whisper encouraging words into his ear while he fought for his life in the intensive care unit for days on end. It was the furthest thing from his mind. He hoped that someone would come to his aid.
