Cinderella's Wedding at South Shore Music Circus

Last Thursday my two year old daughter and I attended our first theatrical event together as guests of the South Shore Music Circus in Cohasset. We saw Cinderella's Wedding, presented by the Kaleidoscope Children’s Theatre. This was my first time at this venue and it will not be my last. There truly are no bad seats at the Music Circus. We were about 5 rows back from the stage, which only added to the excitement of the morning. The crowd appeared to be parents, grandparents, caregivers, and recreation groups with children ranging from infant to 10 years old. Many of the children were dressed as princesses and princes themselves. The show started promptly at 10:30, had a short intermission and a short second act. The bathrooms were very clean and easy to access - which is important to a potty training parent. There were also standard concession stand food items and souvenirs for sale outside of the tent itself.
My daughter was enchanted by the theater experience. She loved sitting in her own chair and watching the excitement on the stage just below her. She was also thrilled to snack on popcorn during the show and leave with a new magic wand from the souvenir stand. I thought that she would be enchanted with Cinderella, as princesses have a special place in her two year old heart. I was pleasantly surprised, however, to see that her favorite characters seemed to be the evil stepmother and her daughters. The musical numbers performed by the stepmother and daughters were quite boisterous and comedic, causing giggles from the audience every time.
