A 40-year-old Davenport man was in custody Thursday after police allege he had a gun during a 2023 incident in which a home was struck by gunfire, court records show.
Emanuel McMullen Jr. faces a felony charge of felon in possession of a firearm and an aggravated charge of reckless use of a firearm – property damage, according to court records.
Shortly before 7 a.m. Dec. 30, 2023, Davenport Police responded to the area of the 400 block of South Lincoln Avenue, Davenport, for multiple calls about gunfire, according to arrest affidavits.
Officers found 10 spent .223 rifle casings at the northwest corner of Jackson Avenue and South Lincoln Avenue, affidavits say. “No victims or immediate damage was located,” affidavits say.
Residential security video was recovered with audio. Several minutes prior to the shooting, a single shot could be heard nearby. Ten seconds after that, McMullen could be seen running out of the back of a residence with a gun in his hand, police allege in affidavits.
“A search of this residence revealed a bullet hole in the front window on the east side of the house. A witness observed (McMullen) fire a handgun,” according to affidavits.
McMullen was being held Thursday on a $3,000 bond in Scott County Jail. On Thursday, he was scheduled for a preliminary hearing March 1 in Scott County Court.
