In a tragic incident on Thursday morning, a collision between a car and a motorbike on Route 20 resulted in the loss of two lives.
According to police, a preliminary investigation has revealed that a collision occurred between a 2008 Suzuki motorcycle, travelling eastbound on Route 20, and a 2015 Subaru Legacy that was making a left turn onto 129 Southbridge St. (Route 20).
Tragically, both the motorcyclist and a passenger in the car succumbed to their injuries.

According to the office of District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr., the motorcyclist involved in the incident has been identified as Joseph Tomlin Jr., a 25-year-old resident of Sturbridge. Additionally, the passenger in the Subaru has been identified as Diane Dwyer, a 58-year-old resident of Webster.
At approximately 11 a.m., a multivehicle crash prompted the swift response of police and fire crews, who quickly converged on the scene.
The road closure persisted for a duration exceeding three hours, as investigators meticulously examined the scene. A diversion was implemented on Route 20, stretching from Routes 169 to 49.
Investigation is ongoing.
