Evan Christopher Kinley, like countless other teenage boys, had a deep passion for the game of football. A 15-year-old, who is a 10th grader at T.L. Hanna High School, has gained popularity as a member of the school’s football team. This young individual is deeply cherished by their parents, siblings, and grandparents.
In a family headed by Amanda Spigener and Chris Kinley, Evan was brought into the world. He found great pleasure in engaging in outdoor pursuits such as hunting and fishing. In Anderson, South Carolina, a man resided with his family, while his parents chose to live in separate homes with their respective new partners, Bruce Spigener and Sharlie Kinley.
In addition to his academic pursuits, football endeavours, and outdoor adventures, the teenager held a strong belief in the divine and frequently dedicated his time to the spiritual community of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. Evan, driven by a deep desire to assist those in need, dedicated his time as a volunteer firefighter at the renowned Broadway Fire Department Station 8.
In a shocking turn of events, the young boy, who had been leading a fulfilling life filled with acts of kindness, familial bonds, and contentment, found himself facing an unimaginable tragedy. In a tragic turn of events, an individual embarked on a journey to visit their grandparents, completely unaware that this would be their final departure from the comfort of their own home.
On August 7, 2023, Evan embarked on a visit to his grandparents’ residence, just like any other ordinary day for him and his family. In a surprising turn of events, the teenager found himself unable to gain entry into his grandparents’ home.
With anticipation coursing through his veins, Evan emerged from his vehicle, parking it just outside the residence situated on Arnold Drive in close proximity to Kings Road. On a stormy afternoon, at approximately 5 p.m., he was observed walking towards the garage.
In a tragic turn of events, a young boy was struck by a fallen tree as he made his way towards the garage of his grandparents’ residence. The tree, uprooted by the forceful storm, came crashing down on the unsuspecting child. In a matter of mere seconds, the teenager became ensnared beneath the weight of a substantial tree.
In a race against time, the first responders swiftly arrived at the scene, their sole mission being to rescue Evan. With a glimmer of hope, they set out to free him by employing the method of chopping down the tree. However, their valiant efforts were tragically in vain, as they were unable to reach Evan in time. Tragically, the young boy had tragically lost his life shortly after a tree had fallen on him, unable to survive the injuries he sustained.
