Evan Kinley Death; Identified As Teen Killed By Fallen Tree in South Carolina

Anderson County Coroner’s Office has officially confirmed that emergency crews were dispatched on Monday afternoon in response to a distressing incident involving a 15-year-old individual in Anderson County. The incident occurred when a tree made contact with the aforementioned teenager.
According to the Coroner’s Office, a tragic incident occurred on Arnold Drive near Kings Road at approximately 5:00 p.m. amidst the severe storms that took place on Monday.
According to the Coroner’s Office, it has been reported that the victim sought shelter at his grandparent’s residence amidst the storm. Tragically, as the victim stood near the garage entrance, a substantial tree is said to have uprooted, subsequently falling and fatally striking him.
In a recent development, the Coroner’s Office has officially identified the victim of the tragic incident as 15-year-old Evan Kinley, hailing from Anderson. According to reports, it has been confirmed that he is a sophomore at TL Hanna High School.
In the aftermath of the incident, Anderson School District 5 has issued a district-wide message to address the situation.
“Anderson Five Family, It is with a heavy heart that I inform you that tonight, Evan Kinley, a tenth grade student at TL Hanna High School was tragically killed during the thunderstorms. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time, and additional support staff members will serve at TL Hanna tomorrow to help students and staff process this tragedy. Words never seem to convey comfort during a time like this, but please take a moment to remember why we are in the roles that we are, and please keep Evan, his family, and the TLH students, faculty, and staff in mind as you go about your day tomorrow. As the district learns more information about arrangements, we will be sure to send that information out accordingly.” May the soul rest in peace.
