The hotly anticipated sequel to Vikings has finally arrived on Netflix. We explore how tall is Frida Gustavsson and how her height compares to Viking women.

Vikings: Valhalla is the gory sequel to Vikings, which ran for six seasons on the History channel in Canada and the US. This next chapter fast forwards fans 100 years, picking up at the bloody St Brice’s Day Massacre.

The eight-episode long first season follows famed Viking legends Leif Eriksson, his sister Freydis, and Viking prince Harald Sigurdsson as they battle for revenge against the British royals.

What is Frida Gustavsson’s height?

Frida Gustavsson stands tall at an impressive 6’1. Her height only adds weight to her character who is described as ‘fiery and headstrong’, making her a real force to be reckoned with on the battlefield.

However, the average height for Viking women was only 5’1.

This means that Gustavsson is an entire foot taller than the average real life Viking woman.

Gustavsson on how she prepared for her role

When preparing for her role as Freydis, Gustavsson details how she tried to put herself in the mind of her character:

“She grew up in the outskirts of the Viking world, in Greenland, in a very small community where they had to hunt for their own food. They had to fight every single day to survive. So that kind of informed me of how she would move, how she would kind of position herself. She’s not, per se, a trained fighter. She’s a trained survivor.”

On what she loved about her character, Gustavsson continued:

“What I also loved about playing Freydís is just like you say, she has this very spiritual side to her. And while all the boys are in England yelling and beheading each other, Freydís is on this spiritual discovery and it’s really wonderful to play that and to have those kinds of quiet moments and to fill it with quiet spirituality.”

Frida Gustavsson’s previous roles

Gustavsson is a Swedish actress who has appeared in TV shows such as Arne Dahl: Efterskalv (2015) and Dröm (2019).

She is probably more recognisable, though, for her role as Ma in The Witcher.

Frida has also appeared in four episodes of the TV show Partisan, playing the role of Clara.
