From Dreams to Freedom Chapter 86: Release Date, Spoilers & Where To Read

“From Dreams to Freedom” is a popular manhwa that combines elements of psychology, romance, and drama. The story centers around the protagonist, Jeongmin, who is a high school loner and constantly bullied by the popular Queen Bee of the school, Juhyeon.

Despite having been friends in elementary school, Juhyeon demanded that Jeongmin only be friends with her, ultimately ending their friendship. She then used this “betrayal” to turn everyone against Jeongmin, isolating and insulting him at every opportunity.

Jeongmin’s only escape from this miserable reality is through lucid dreams. One day, a strange person enters her lucid dream and offers to help her get revenge on her bully Juhyeon for everything she did to her. As Jeongmin delves deeper into her dreams and begins to gain control over them, she discovers that the man in her dreams is not just a figment of her imagination but a real person who is seriously willing to help her in getting rid of her bullies.

From Dreams to Freedom Chapter 85 Recap

Jeon-Min attempts to approach Si-Yun in a calm manner to ensure his safety, but he refuses to listen and even tries to physically harm his former bandmate. However, when Jeon-Min uses terms of endearment, such as “darling”  and kisses him intimately, it brings Si-Yun back to his senses and provides him with a sense of validation. Unfortunately, this is the primary thing he lives for currently, despite its unhealthy nature.

Si-Yun is in a state where he cannot process his surroundings due to his childhood trauma and complexity. His uncontrollable behavior grows from his dependency on Jeon-Min, who is the only one who can calm him down. However, it is not her fault that he has become so dependent on her, as he never received love or care from anyone else. Despite this, Jeon-Min has learned how to comfort him and help him calm down. It may seem like manipulation, but it is the only way that Si-Yun has learned to cope with his behavior. 

After apparently calming Si-Yun down, Jeongmin asks him if he plans to leave Nahyeok. She clarifies that she is not worried about Nahyeok but rather about Si-Yun as he reopens his wounds while beating Nahyeok. Meanwhile, Nahyeok is in a state of shock when he witnesses how Si-Yun changes for Jeongmin and how he listens to her. Nahyeok doesn’t tell his bandmates what happened to him, and he seems to be afraid of anything happening to him when Si-Yun calls him and suggests that they meet as soon as possible.
