How to clear your facebook search history

Google stores a history of all the searches you’ve made while signed in, tying it to your Google account. You can now quickly erase this history from Google’s search results rather than heading to the Google Account dashboard.
Bear in mind that Google uses your search history to learn about you, so deleting the search history will make your search results less personalized.
How to Clear Your Google Search History on Desktop
To erase your Google search history on desktop, click Settings > Your Data in Search at the top of the page, right below the right side of the search box.
Scroll down to the “Your search activity section.” To delete all your Google search history, click the “Delete all Search activity” button. To clear just the last hour of search history, click the “Delete last hour” button.
How to Clear Your Google Search History on Mobile
On a smartphone, tap the menu button at the top-left corner of the Google search results page.
Tap “Your Data in Search.”
Scroll down to the “Delete your search activity section” and tap either “Delete last hour” or “Delete all Search activity,” depending on how much of your search history you want to clear.
How to Stop Google From Collecting Search History
Of course, Google will still keep collecting search history even after you clear it. If you’d like to stop Google from doing this, click or tap the “Web & App Activity” option under “Google-wide controls” on the Your Data in Search page.
On the Activity Controls page that appears, turn off the “Web & App Activity” slider.
Stay Tuned For More
Google added this feature on October 24, 2018, but it’s just the first step. Here’s what Google said:
Next year, we’ll expand this to Maps, followed by many other Google products. Having access to relevant and actionable privacy controls directly from the Google products you use every day is just one way that we are continuously working to build privacy that works for everyone.
The Facebook Search History log keeps a record of all of the searches that you’ve ever done on the platform. Clearing this and your activity log regularly is a great way to ensure that your privacy is protected even if you have any unauthorized logins. For this, we’ll show you how you can delete your search history on Facebook, among the other options on your account’s Activity Log.
Deleting the Search History
Your Facebook search history information is hidden behind several menus that aren’t really obvious. Your search history is used by the Facebook algorithm to better tune the results whenever you search for anything. If you regularly search for familiar terms, the search results will display those first if you look for them often. If you wish to delete your search history though, you can follow these steps:
1. If you’re using the Classic Facebook Theme
- On the front page, click on your profile icon to open the Profile page.
- Click on Activity Log that’s located on the top and inside your cover photo.
- On the Activity Log page, refer to the menu on the left. If you cannot find Search History, then click on More to show the hidden options.
- Click on Search History to display all of your recorded searches.
- Scrolling up and down will show you all of your existing search history by date. You can delete these individually by choosing a search, clicking on the Edit button on the rightmost part of the bar, then choosing Delete.
- You will be asked if you want to remove the search, click Remove Search to agree.
- If you wish to remove your entire search history, click on Clear Searches on the top of the history menu.
- You’ll be asked if you’re sure that you want to delete all your searches. Click Clear Searches to confirm.
2. If you’re using the New Facebook Theme
- Click on the down arrow on the upper right corner of the page (near your profile).
- Choose Activity Log.
- Look for Search History on the menu to the left. If you can’t find it, click on More.
To delete the search history either individually or as a whole, follow the instructions as detailed in the Classic Theme.
Other Activity Log Entries
The Activity Log, as the title suggests, contains records of all your activity on Facebook. Unless you regularly delete your records, you’ll probably find posts dating back to when you first created your Facebook page here. There is currently no way to delete the entirety of your Activity Log, though you can do so individually if you really wish to. This is done by choosing a particular entry on the log, clicking on the edit button on the rightmost part, and choosing to allow it on the timeline, keep it hidden from the timeline, or deleting it entirely.
Some of the more interesting activity lists that you may want to browse, either to review the posts for deletion or just to go down memory lane on things that you posted years ago, are:
- Posts – These include all of your past posts, other people’s posts that are on your timeline, posts that mention you or you’ve tagged, and those that have been hidden from your timeline but are still saved in your activity history. If you’ve been registered on Facebook for a long time, and are a frequent user, this is going to be a very long list.
- Photos and Videos – These are the images and clips that you posted, tagged, or are in your albums. This will be the place to find old photos and videos that you may have lost due to time. If you regularly upload to Facebook, more often than not they will probably still be here. It’s a good idea to give this log a good once over if only to make sure that you don’t have photos from your college days still floating about.
- Security and Login Information – Not as comprehensive as the other logs, the Security and Login information page contains a record of the devices that have logged onto your account. This may be a way to find out if others have been able to enter your account without you knowing. The record doesn’t go too far back though, and some of them list only the IP addresses of the devices that logged in. However, if you suspect a hacking attempt, looking through here for clues is as good a start as any.
Safety from Potential Hacks
Although the search history helps you easily find the items that you usually look for, having that data stay on Facebook is usually not a good idea. Regularly clearing your search history and your Activity Log in general keeps your data safe from any potential hacks. Do you have other tips on how to delete your search history on Facebook? And just like that, your entire search history on Facebook will vanish.
How to Remove a Single Item in Your Facebook Search History
You also can remove individual items from your Facebook history if you don’t want to delete the whole thing. How you do it depends on whether you’re using the iOS or Android apps, or the web interface.
On iOS and Android
To remove a single item from your search history on iOS or Android tap the X next to the search you want to delete.
This clears that item from your search history.
On the Facebook Website
To remove one thing from your search history on the web, click the “Edit” button next to it.

Among the social media platforms, YouTube is one of the leading websites in many ways. This includes both for watching and sharing videos online.
Universally, using YouTube has become a routine where people have been dependent to check their favorite channels.
YouTube allows the user to see new posts that have been posted thus an individual can comment back. On my side, I usually check on YouTube on a daily basis at least once or twice a day. With that, I’m always able to comment on my favorite channels as well as post a reply to those who have commented on my channel.
The challenge I have, however, is that sometimes it can be hard to view my past comments. It has been, therefore, hard for me to be able to edit or delete them in case I wanted to do so. If, coincidentally, you have been in my case, then don’t worry at all.
This article outlines few steps on how to view your comments on YouTube.
1.The first step is obviously to open YouTube website on your website browser so as to get access to your channel.
2.The second step would require you to enter your username and then click search comments.
Unlike earlier, this feature is great where it allows you to find comments on your direct username searching. This, nonetheless, does not allow you to see the past comments but only the recent past comments. Preferably, this option would be best for searching comments that have been posted recently before the search result time limit. If you have been buying YouTube comments, this process can be wearisome. This is because, it is obvious that your followers have been increasing. Clicking on each video to track your comments would consequently be an extra work for you.
The YouTube channel usually has a ‘favorite’ section. This section is usually used by most users to keep their favorites videos. By using this option, you are, therefore, able to gain access to the entire comments in this particular segment. Here is how it goes, what you need to do here is log in first. At the top of the page, there is usually a “sign in” link that will let you scroll over the username. More often than not, it is always at the top of the page. As a result, there is a drop-down menu which pops out to give numerous options. Here, select “favorites” so as to be able to access the favorited videos. Since every video on YouTube has its own comments, you are hereby required to click on each video so that you can view your own comments.
The ‘favorites’ section might be helpful to some level but since it does not allow you to view all the history of the user, the history section can be additionally helpful. This section is good for doing a deeper search to view past comments. The process of accessing this is quite simple. Through the sign in link, you can log in hence you are able to find the history option. You can then either scroll over the username or click on history from the top of the YouTube page. In this case, you have to click on account where you are set to find a variety features. Select history among these features and then you can click on each video hence you can find and view all your comments.
In summary, these YouTube features are very favorable in many ways and for many reasons. If you are in a situation where you made a comment and currently you are regretting, then there is finally a relieve. You don’t have to regret anymore, as long as you can follow this steps you can eventually locate the comment and modify it or even delete it permanently.
