How to Unlock More Cosmetics in Warhammer 40000: Darktide

There are five ways to get cosmetics in Warhammer 40,000: Darktide: Commodore’s Ventures, The Armoury Exchange, Penances, Twitch Drops, and having participated in the pre-release beta. Body cosmetics consist of a helmet, upper body, lower body, and accessory slots, but player frames and weapons also have cosmetics. Helmets, upper body, and lower body cosmetics are only wearable by one type of operative. For example, a Zealot cannot wear an Ogryn’s lower body cosmetic. Weapon cosmetics can be used by any operative who can equip the corresponding weapon.

The premium currency in Warhammer 40k: Darktide, Aquilas, has changed since the official release on November 30, and some sources are giving information based on Warhammer 40,000: Darktide‘s pre-release beta that is no longer accurate. As of official release, Aquilas are only obtainable through in-game purchases and from having bought the Imperial Edition of Darktide, which included 2,500 Aquilas. The currency gained from completing contracts at Sire Melk’s Requisitorium had been called “premium currency” before full release, but Aquilas and Requisitorium coins are not the same thing.

How To Get Aquilas & Cosmetics in Warhammer 40k: Darktide

Commodore’s Vestures is run by the Purser Alice Hallowette and is a shop located in the player hub on the Mourningstar. The cosmetics from Commodore’s cost Aquilas, a form of currency. Aquilas are obtained through in-game purchases, meaning players pay money, and can be bought by clicking the “Get Aquilas” button in the top right corner of the shop screen. Like most problematic in-game microtransactions, Aquilas are sold in bundles with more bonus Aquilas scaling with the price.

The cosmetic bundles on the featured page will be refreshed after a given period, indicated under the bundle picture to the left of the Aquila cost. However, the bundles will return sometime in the future. Currently, featured bundles cost 2,400 Aquilas, but players can explore the shop to see the various cosmetics each operative can equip. Operatives have their own shop inventory and are operative-exclusive. Before players drop real money on cosmetics, remember that they do nothing for Warhammer 40k: Darktide‘s gameplay and are purely aesthetic.

The Armory Exchange’s cosmetics are bought with Ordo Dockets, Warhammer 40k: Darktide’s world currency. Ordo Dockets are obtained through completing missions or players finding them during their runs. While Plasteel and Diamantine are shared between players, i.e., a player picking up ten Plasteel also gives their teammates ten Plasteel, Ordo Dockets are not shared. The Armory sells both weapon and body cosmetics, and available purchases are based on player level. As players gain levels, they will have more cosmetic options.

Penance cosmetics are awarded upon completion of operative-specific challenges. Zealot, for example, has the Penance “Abhor the Mutant,” which requires players to kill a mutant with a melee attack while dashing, as the Zealot is one ofWarhammer 40,000: Darktide‘s more melee-inclined operatives, and it rewards an upper body cosmetic. Penance cosmetics are also walking trophies because they indicate that a player has the skill to complete the challenge. Penances and player progress can be found in the “Feats” tab.

Warhammer 40k: Darktide Cosmetics from Twitch are constantly changing since they are time-based opportunities. The cosmetic reward from playing the pre-release beta is no longer available since the beta is over. However, the beta cosmetic is just a black helmet with a β symbol on the front.
