Revered Canadian Folk Singer Ian Tyson passed away at the age of 89 years. He died on 29 December 2022, in Longview, Alberta, Canada. He passed away following a series of health complications his manager Paul Mascioli, revealed.

Ian started their music career as half of the folk-era duo Ian and Sylvia. He was also celebrated for his commitment to the culture of Canada’s farm country.
After his graduation, he was sifted to Toronto where he started a job as a commercial artist. At that time he had performed in local clubs and in 1959 started to sing on occasion with Sylvia Fricker.
At the year of 1959, he and Fricker were performing part-time at the Village Corner as Ian & Sylvia. He also wrote a young adult fiction book about his song “La Primera”, called La Primera: The Story of Wild Mustangs.
He had also sung their signature song, Four Strong Winds, at the 50th anniversary of the Mariposa Folk Festival on July 11, 2010, in Orillia, Ontario.
He had been also becoming part of the Order of Canada in October 1994. He also won a Governor General’s Performing Arts Award.
