Wayne Brady’s relationship status has recently been a topic of interest. Despite his openness about his attraction to men in the past, he confessed that he had never dated anyone due to the “shame” he experienced as a result of his upbringing and societal pressures. As of now, Wayne Brady has confirmed that he is currently single.
He emphasized that he is not actively seeking a relationship at the moment because he feels there’s still personal growth and work he wants to focus on. He expressed that once he has achieved this growth, he can make decisions about his relationships as a single, open-minded pansexual individual.
@waynebradyAs someone who gets to bring joy to others daily on tv, it’s been ironic that I don’t experience it as much as I’d like. I advocate mental health for all and a part of that is self transparency. In doing my work, I’ve come to see a few truths, one of them being that I want to be free to love whomever I want. This truth makes me Pan and part of the lgbtq+ family. It’s scary as hell to say out loud but here it is. The people I admire the most are the ones brave enough to be themselves unapologetically. This shouldn’t shake anyone’s world, but if it bothers you at all, that’s your business:) I was so afraid of having my manhood questioned, but screw that. A “real man” in my eyes, isn’t afraid to be honest and happy. From now on, I’ll be over here living my best life! I love you @Mandietaketa @Maile Masako @Jason

He sees it as the ability to be attracted to individuals who identify as gay, straight, bisexual, transgender, or non-binary, allowing for attraction across a wide spectrum. He emphasized that this label reflects his current understanding and feels appropriate for him.
That Wayne Brady interview touched on something I think we don't focus on as much anymore in questions about the Queer community, which is the coming out process. Brady discussed how his internalized homophobia had him severely depressed. He's 51 coming out today.
