It’s time for another Quad Cities Christmas Tradition. The 41st annual Christmas in the Village kicked off tonight in Davenport.
Julie Keehn owns Camp McClellan Cellars and is a part of the Village of East Davenport Business Association. She said there are many new businesses for visitors to check out this year, which has expanded the Christmas walk to two full blocks.
SANTA! The guest of honor just arrived at the historic fire station so that means it’s time for Davenport’s Christmas in the Village! We’ll tell what’s new this year coming up in a few minutes on @Local4NewsWHBF at 6. — Grace Runkel (@GraceRunkel) November 30, 2018
Camp McClellan Cellars has been open in the Village for 28 years and during that time Keehn said she’s seen the tradition change and grow, but her favorite part is always seeing the kids.
”It’s kind of like an old fashioned Christmas for them and gives them a free opportunity to see things maybe they wouldn’t see otherwise,” she said.
That’s a long line to see Santa at Christmas in the Village! Must be a lot of good (and patient) kids 🎅🏻🎁🎄 — Grace Runkel (@GraceRunkel) December 1, 2018
Christmas in the Village will go tonight until 9 p.m. and continue Saturday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
