John Connor Car Accident; Off-Duty Chicago Police Officer, John Connor Passes Away In A Car Accident

According to Chicago police officials, a single vehicle collision in Oak Lawn on Sunday morning claimed the life of an off-duty police officer.

Edwin Espinoza, 35, is the officer’s identity, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Oak Lawn police said that at approximately 7:50 a.m., first responders from Oak Lawn responded at the scene of a crash on 95th Street. After Espinoza’s car veered off the road and collided with a tree, he was brought to Christ Medical Center and later declared deceased.

Police Supt. Larry Snelling stated in an internal email to the Chicago Police Department that Espinoza was assigned to the Austin neighborhood’s 15th District and was a probationary cop who had joined the force approximately a year prior.
