The death of a 3-year-old boy in a hit-and-run incident is currently under investigation by the Delaware State Police.
According to state police, a tragic incident occurred on Tuesday, August 8, when a 3-year-old child was struck and fatally injured by a white pickup truck on South State Street. According to police, a truck was traveling in a northbound direction shortly after 4 p.m. when a boy reportedly ran across the road towards the Allen Frear Elementary School. According to reports, the truck failed to come to a halt and hastily left the vicinity.
Tragically, the child was transported to a hospital in close proximity, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
The boy is now identified Kasai Bull, hailing from Dover.
In a recent development, the Delaware State Police have revealed that they successfully identified the driver of the truck involved in the incident. The individual in question is an 18-year-old resident of Smyrna. Furthermore, authorities have confirmed that they have established contact with the aforementioned driver. As of 11 a.m. Wednesday morning, the incident continues to be under investigation and no charges have been announced yet.
