Komi Can’t Communicate Anime Adaptation Slated For October 2021

Earlier today, a website opened announcing that the popular mange Komi Can’t Communicate is getting an anime adaptation set to release later this year. Along with a brief teaser trailer, the cast and crew for the new venture were also announced.
Ayumu Watanabe (Mysterious Girlfriend X) will act as chief director of the adaptation along with Kazuki Kawagoe (Beyblade Burst). The main character of Komi Can’t Communicate, Shouko Komi, is played by Aoi Koga (KAGUYA-SAMA: LOVE IS WAR),. Her friends, Hitohito Tadano and Najimi Osana, will be voiced by Gakuto Kajiwara (Black Clover) and Rie Murakawa (Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-) respectively.

Described as a romantic comedy, the first volume of Komi Can’t Communicate is as follows:
Timid Tadano is a total wallflower, and that’s just the way he likes it. But all that changes when he finds himself alone in a classroom on the first day of high school with the legendary Komi. He quickly realizes she isn’t aloof—she’s just super awkward. Now he’s made it his mission to help her on her quest to make 100 friends!
As of this writing, there are 20 Japanese volumes of the manga, and the first 12 have been translated into English. The 13th translated volume is set to release on June 8th.
Komi Can’t Communicate will begin airing on television in Japan in October 2021, and, as of now, there is no news about simulcast streaming. However, the manga are available for your reading pleasure.
