Krewe of Athena Mardi Gras parade rescheduled due to weather concerns

METAIRIE, La. (WVUE) - Officials have announced the Krewe of Athena Carnival parade is now set for Monday, Feb. 12.
This adjustment was made in response to inclement weather expected on Sunday, Feb. 11.
The parade was to occur on Sunday at 5:30 p.m. but will now take place after the Krewe of Centurions, which has been moved from 6:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday.
For updates and alerts on parade routes and conditions, the public can text JPMARDIGRAS to 888-777. Further details on Mardi Gras events in Jefferson Parish are available at or by contacting the Citizens’ Affairs Department at (504) 736-6101.
