La Brea Release Date, Cast And Plot

According to NBC's official description of "La Brea," the science fiction series is an "epic adventure" revolving around a huge sinkhole in Los Angeles, as "those who fell in find themselves in a mysterious and dangerous primeval land, where they have no choice but to band together to survive. Meanwhile, the rest of the world desperately seeks to understand what happened." It looks like the show will have a main focus on the Harris family, showing how they are split apart and put in two vastly different situations but must work with others around them to be reunited. 

Not much about the world within the sinkhole has been revealed yet, but given it happens right on the site of the La Brea Tar Pits and is described in official text as "primeval," it's highly likely that fans will be seeing some Ice Age-era flora and fauna. On top of that, there's the big question of how this world even exists beneath Los Angeles, so there might be a more mystical reason behind everything happening in "La Brea." NBC obviously believes in the success of the new show and is remaining relatively quiet about the first season's story, so start getting excited and gearing up for the September premiere.
