Lucas’ family called the police and they started to look for him. Lucas’s mother told CBS affiliate WHIO,

“I just want to hold him, that’s the first thing. I want to put him in my arms. That’s my baby. I just want to hold him. I want to hold him and I want to keep him warm and safe.”

Authorities continued their search for Lucas around the Eastwood MetroPark. Around 400 acres of land and water had been searched including the Harshman Road area, portions of the Mad River, and the Great Miami River.

Lucas’ mother told the outlet,

“When we find him, I’m going to wrap him up if he’s cold and I’m going to hold him.”

The Dayton Police Department told,

“The decreasing water levels will provide the opportunity for the City of Dayton Water Department to create a temporary dam on a portion of the Mad River to facilitate additional search.”

One of the social media users saw a body floating and recorded a video and shared it on social media. He put up more posts on Facebook claiming how the police banged on his home door and said him to delete the video.

He wrote in a post,

“The Police literally just banged my door down n told me to delete the video right now in his face or they taking me to jail. Idk what cirme i’ve committed but i deleted the video. I did not do anything wrong. I wasn’t even sure if it ws REAL i just never seen nothgin like that before but i’m glad i called n did what id id. So it’s gone y’s all.. anybody who calling me disrespectful n all that i really don’t care. I had no ill intentions whatsoever..I can’t even believe this is real. It’s so sad n i’ll forever have that image in my head RIP to him.”

As he posted the video which was saved by many users already. While it was not confirmed through the video if it was Lucas. It was clarified by the police that they didn’t find a body in the river near downtown Dayton. It is still not confirmed by the police if it is Lucas.

Officials claimed that hte body is of a young boy who is between the ages of 6 and 9. A few social media users are convinced that it is indeed Lucas since the clothes match those of the bodies found in the river.

It is still not yet confirmed if the body found in the river was really Lucas. Police are searching for Lucas. Police found an unidentified body of a juvenile. They are considering the possibility that the body is Lucas.

The DPD employed specialized search capabilities. Lieutenant Jeffrey Thomas of Dayton Police said about the reported body in the water,

“Upon arrival, crews did locate a body in the water and the body was retrieved. That body was a juvenile male and the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office arrived on the scene.”

The police are waiting for the family who identify the body. It can take several weeks to confirm anything.
