MUSCATINE, IOWA – A  Muscatine man is stepping up to make sure no one goes hungry this holiday.

For 17 years, the employees at Muscatine Radio Vintage Sound 93.1 and KWPC have been collecting food for the Salvation Army as part of the annual Two Weeks of Love drive.

The group also teamed up with a local man called Stinky. For the 11th year in a row, Stinky has donated thousands of pounds of food.

And he’s been able to do that by transforming his home into a haunted house on Halloween and charging a can of food to enter. He says, he’s proud to make a difference in his community.

“I would be doing the haunt if it wasn’t a food drive, but when you see face to face the affect it has on our community and the people in need it speaks for itself, ” said Troy “Stinky” Philpott.

Since Stinky started, he’s donated about 28,000 pounds of food.  With his help, they’ve served more 1,300 local families last year and hope to exceed that number this year.
