Partner with dementia doesn’t love me anymore

@RER My situation is so very similar to yours so I understand exactly how you feel. I too wanted to look after MH until the bitter end, but I couldn't cope in the end. However, after he went into care I discovered he'd been cheating on me for at least a decade if not more. Here was me thinking we had the perfect marriage! I have felt crushed, hurt and betrayed. From day to day I go from forgiving him to calling him all the foulest names under the sun and like you want to toss anything he ever gave me or owned. Fifteen years ago is when his infidelity started, but I keep asking myself if perhaps his dementia was already starting then and causing him to behave irrationally. I'll never know for sure, but it is possible and gives me a modicum of relief.
