The Pathaan movie revolves around the story of a passionate, competent, and skilled agent named Pathaan, played by Shah Rukh Khan. Pathan worked for RAW but decided to separate his paths because of certain reasons. The story is centered at a time when India revoked its article 370 which gave the territory of Jammu & Kashmir a special status. In response, a vengeful Pakistani general named Qadir, played by Manish Wadhwa, decides to retaliate against India. Qadir decides to sign a contract with Jim, a present terrorist who worked as a RAW agent in the past and has a deep-seated hatred for India. The character is played by John Abraham. On the other hand, Nandini, a senior agent of RAW, played by Dimple Kapadia, encounters a mysterious woman in France. This encounter leads Nandini to seek out Pathaan, who was once India's most valuable agent. Nandini tries to convince Pathaan to serve the nation again. Nandini believed that Pathaan is the only person who can help India in dire times. Pathaan and Nandini collectively start a new unit called Joint Operations and Covert Research (JOCR), to bring back the retired RAW agents who had decided to leave the organization for one reason or the other. The JOCR unit tried to protect their country from the evil clutches of Jim. The story also includes Rubina Mohsin, played by Deepika Padukone. Rubina is an ex-ISI agent who shares a complicated love history with Pathaan and is even being used by Jim to capture Pathaan. As the story progresses it brings back Pathaan and Rubina together after several ups and downs and jointly succeeds in defeating Jim along with the JOCR. The story follows a group of patriots who try to save their country, at a time when they continue to struggle with their personal past.
