Rick And Morty Part 7: Release Date

Season seven has been confirmed as part of a long-term deal with Cartoon Network, ordering 70 new episodes, extending the series to a tenth season. According to the site, Adult Swim executives have set a release date for Rick and Morty Season 7.

The launch is scheduled for September, avoiding any significant complications. This aligns with the show’s previous release pattern, as Rick and Morty usually comes out in the fall. Adult Swim has intentionally maintained this schedule to ensure that new seasons of Rick and Morty will be released every year in the future.

Will Justin Roiland return for Rick and Morty Season 7?

Adult Swim fired Rick & Morty co-founder Justin Roiland in January 2023 because he was accused of domestic violence in Orange County, California, where he lives. Roiland is also the actor who plays both main characters of the film.

At the time, sources told The Hollywood Reporter that Rick and Morty would continue without the controversial co-creator. Sources say Roiland will keep his co-creator’s credits, but co-creator Dan Harmon will take on the role of sole presenter, handing his main voiceover to new actors.

Roiland’s charges were dropped in March 2023, but there is currently no indication that Adult Swim will change its mind. Harmon has said that Rick and Morty is being worked on ahead of schedule to ensure it comes out on time, so it needs to be clarified whether Roiland recorded his lines for Season 7. Although Justin Roiland is expected to be recast as Rick Sanchez, Morty Smith, and his other regular roles, the rest of the family will return in Season 7. Chris Parnell’s Jerry Smith, Spencer Grammar’s Summer Smith, and Sarah Chalke’s Beth Smith have all featured in every season.

Looking back on previous seasons, other characters and cast have appeared several times and will likely appear in Season 7, though this is yet to be confirmed. Some of the characters that could feature in Season 7 are Jessica played by Kari Wahlgreen, Birdperson played by Dan Harmon, and President Curtis played by Keith David.

Although Jessica, Morty’s girlfriend, and Birdperson, Rick’s best friend, don’t appear in Season 6, they will most likely appear in Season 7.

Rick And Morty Part 7: Plot

At the end of the final episode of season six, “Rickitional Mortpoon’s Rickmas Mortcation,” Rick tells Morty angrily what is about to happen: “Rick and Morty’s seventh season. Looking for my enemy. He may be trying to stay healthy and work things out at the same time. This may only happen in some shows, Morty. It could be happening in the background. Who can tell?”

So “Weird Rick,” who killed our own Rick’s Diane, will return as the main antagonist of season seven. But what else? Since fans have been asking for more connections in season six, you can expect to see more canon links.
