Ronnie started to date Phil Spector in 1963 while Phil was married. When Phil divorced his wife in 1965 then he purchased a house in Beverly Hills where Phile started to live with Ronnie. After some time, Phil got married to Ronnie on 14 April 1968 at Beverly Hills Hall.

In the 1990 memoirs, Be My Baby, Ronnie revealed that after being married to Phil, she was tortured by her husband for years and he destroyed her career. He hired a hit gun to kill her.
