Santa Cruz Skateboards x Pokemon Blind Bags are selling for over $2,000 on eBay

Santa Cruz Skateboards and Pokemon have linked up for special Blind Bag decks. Fans have been ripping open the decks on social media and sharing their findings, while others are already selling theirs for thousands.

Pokemon is rapidly approaching its 30th anniversary, however, the beloved Japanese video game, animated series/movies, and trading card game is just as relevant as ever. There’s still an incredible market for Pokemon related merchandise, both from millennials who grew up with Pokemon and legions of new fans who discovered it more recently.

Santa Cruz and Pokemon link up for special Blind Bags

Now, two worlds have collided, as Santa Cruz Skateboards, known since the 1970s for their high-quality boards, has collaborated with Pokemon to create a line of limited edition skateboards and apparel.

The collection features a bunch of new apparel, however, it’s the Santa Cruz x Pokemon blind bag skateboard decks that are the talk of social media.

Each sealed blind bag contains one 8″ randomly assorted variant skateboard featuring an iconic 1st generation Pokemon character. However, you won’t know which character you’ll get until you open up the bag.

The collection includes 15 holo foil variants featuring a different character printed over silver prismatic rainbow glitter foil and silver metallic paint. The characters in these include Charmander, Squirtle, Bulbasaur, Pikachu and Eevee.

However, in addition to these, there’s also five special gold foil edition variants featuring black and metallic gold ink over metallic gold foil. The gold variants include Pikachu, Eevee, Gyarados, Charizard, and Mimikyu.

Sadly, though, these gold variants are super rare, as there are only 50 of them available worldwide. Nobody said Catching ‘Em All would be easy!

Santa Cruz Skateboards x Pokemon Blind Bags are selling for over $2,000 on eBay

The Santa Cruz Skateboards x Pokemon Blind Bags, as well as the collection of apparel, have been available since 13 September at 9am EST.

They have been available through the official Santa Cruz Skateboards website, although there has been a limit of one blind bag deck per customer. However, it appears they’ve already sold out given how much of a collector’s item they are.

The Santa Cruz Blind Bags were priced at $109.95, while the gold foil variants, given their rarity, are expected to fetch considerably more.

According to a screenshot shared on Twitter, a gold Eevee is currently being sold for $2850.
