We still have a little bit of snow on the ground in the Quad Cities, and we are far from alone!  50 out of 50 states have at least some snow on the ground!

This is the first time this has happened in several years.  While it’s not a surprise that most states have some snow on the ground somewhere, a few states might surprise you.

In Hawaii, believe it or not snow in the mountains isn’t as rare as you’d think.  But snow on the ground in the Florida panhandle is not that common.  Also, the Carolinas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Georgia and Alabama don’t often have snow…let alone at the same time!

As of this morning snow covered 53.7% of the ground in the USA, with an average depth of 3.3″.  That average depth is actually more than we have on the ground in the Quad Cities!  And by Friday night most of our snow will be GONE!
