Some Illinois colleges to help make financial aid easier to understand

Some colleges in Illinois have signed onto a new commitment to standardize financial aid offers.

The program will allow students to more easily compare costs and understand what they will owe after graduating. The program is called the College Cost Transparency initiative.

The University of Illinois, Northwestern University and the University of Chicago did not join the initiative program.
