It's a memorable "Westworld" moment that comes toward the end of Season 1, during its seventh episode, "Trompe L'Oeil." Thandiwe Newton's Maeve is attempting to persuade two Westworld lab technicians to help her escape the infamous theme park. "Everything is made to keep you here," one of the technicians tells her, prompting one of the most badass speeches in "Westworld" — and HBO — history.
"At first, I thought you and the others were gods," Maeve says. "Then I realized you're just men, and I know men. You think I'm scared of death, I've done it a million times and I'm f***ing great at it. How many times have you died? Cause if you don't help me, I'll kill you."
Over on Reddit, people have been propping up the scene as a highlight for both "Westworld" and Maeve, who is now living in the outside world. "Maeve is the best character," wrote u/Flashy_Inevitable_15. Redditor u/ElLoafe replied, "Honestly, the longer this show goes on the more she stands out as possibly the strongest character. She's easily the most dynamic." Anyone interested in what to expect in the show's latest chapter should check out the official "Westworld" Season 4 trailer, which provides a long-awaited first look at the most recent iteration of the dystopian drama.
