The Truth Behind Harry And Hermione's Unexpected Kiss In The Deathly Hallows Part 1

During the filming of the kissing scene between Harry and Hermione, director David Yates found the first few takes with actors Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson too "tame," according to The Seattle Times. He instructed them to be more "pagan and mad." This resulted in a gung-ho attempt on the part of Watson, whose ambitious take on the kiss netted the final take. Radcliffe described her as "like an animal" and admitted that "she really went for it, I have to say. It caught me slightly off guard, but yeah, I'm not complaining. Many men would lose a limb to be in that position, so I was absolutely fine with it." 

Watson said, "I guess I just realized that I would have fewer takes to do if I just got on with it and just gave David what he wanted. Which was a passionate kiss." How did Rupert Grint, who plays Ron, respond to this event? "I just found that too funny. Emma sent me out because I kept laughing. It just looked really strange."

The feeling seemed to be mutual between the other actors as well. Watson described the kiss as "awkward because Dan and I are like brother and sister, so it was tough making it look passionate." It may have been awkward, but it made for one heck of a funny behind-the-scenes story.
