After people were seen using a hand dryer to curl their hair, a TikTok video that checks how dirty an air dryer is went viral.
TikTok is now a source of ideas for a lot of people, and while some tips, tricks, and hacks are very creative, others are just plain weird.
There’s a new trend where women go to public bathrooms in their neighborhoods to get free blowouts. That is right. People are using hand dryers to make the famous Dyson Airwrap effect from TikTok.
They don’t know that bacteria and feces have been found in these hand dryers. People were shocked by the viral video, which made them want to work together to show how unsanitary the “free blowout” is.
TikTok Responds to Air Dryer Video and Reddit Post About Germs in Hand Dryer
A strange TikTok video of a woman using a public air dryer to curl her hair went viral. People on Reddit were shocked to see how dirty and filthy the hand dryer was, and they talked about it.
People were shocked by the viral video, which made them want to work together to show how unsanitary the “free blowout” is. In another video, the results were shown in a Petri dish, and they were just as disgusting as you might expect.
A study in the journal Applied and Environmental Microbiology says that hand dryers aren’t as clean as they look. They found that when the hand dryer was drying hands, it sucked in bacteria from the feces-filled air in the bathroom and then shot it back onto clean hands.
Scientists looked at Petri dishes that the bathroom dryer had warmed up. Compared to those that were left out in the open, the bacteria grew to 245 colonies in 30 seconds.
People are angry about the TikTok air dryer video on Twitter
After the air dryer video went viral on TikTok, people on Twitter talked about how they felt about it. After the air dryer experiment video was posted, people are saying they hate it.
A medical student on Twitter, @madmedicine, said, “I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but those hand dryers in public bathrooms are very disgusting.”
“These hand dryers have been tested to see if they spread bacteria. They can spread germs better than a towel would.”
TikTok Air Dryer Original Video
The first caption for the popular video said, “No one was hurt. Don’t try this at home. The video was seen an amazing 10.8 million times.
@phonesoap, another TikToker, tried to do something similar with Petri dishes. Besides taking air samples from the different dryers, he also took air samples from a control dryer that “simulated” shaking his hands dry.
In the video about the air dryer, @phonesoap left all of the Petri plates in an incubator for three days. Bacteria grew on the hand dryers from the same public bathroom as the “control” dish, a gas station, a movie theater, and a shop.
