College students in the University of Illinois system won’t have to worry about paying more for tuition for the next school year.
This will be the seventh time in ten years the university won’t increase tuition for the Urbana-Champaign, Springfield and Chicago campuses. The university’s Board of Trustees kept fees the same for the first time in 25 years. Factors like inflation and the cost of living factored into the decision, and the Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs says it sends a strong message to students.
Base tuition for in-state undergraduates will stay at about $12,700 for Urbana-Champaign, about $11,100 in Chicago and $322 per credit at the Springfield campus.
