Former RAW agent Vikram (Kamal Haasan) emerges from retirement with a mission to bust a drug syndicate and address the escalating drug problem in India. The movie is a spiritual sequel to the same-named 1986 film, which also starred Hassan. When Karnan (Kamal Haasan) learns that his son is one of the gang's victims, he sets out on a journey to exact revenge. This begins as a vengeful act and develops into a mission under the direction of Karnan, who is much later introduced as Vikram. Amar (Fahadh Faasil), the team leader of the police personnel brought in by Police Chief Jose (Chemban Vinod), begins looking into Karnan's life. The main suspect in all of this crime is Sandhanam (Vijay Sethupathi), a ruthless drug lord who is looking for the cargo that will elevate him to mafia king. Unexpectedly, a lot is going on in the city, and the police are determined to find out what's going on.
