For those Password Game players stuck on what the current moon phase emoji would be, we’ve got the waxing gibbous covered.
Online games are all the rage. The Password Game, created by Neal Agarwal (AKA Neal Fun), is the latest trend to dominate social media as its puzzling questions are leaving netizens searching the web for answers. Fortunately for anyone stuck on the emoji level, we’ve done some digging to find out about the current moon phase.
What is the current moon phase?
As of Wednesday, June 28, the current moon phase is a waxing gibbous phase. This means that the moon is over 50 per cent illuminated and is on its way to 100 per cent illumination, meaning a full moon is expected soon.
There are eight moon phases which the moon moves through each month. They are in order: new moon, waxing crescent, first quarter, waxing gibbous, full moon, waning gibbous, third quarter, and waning crescent.
It is unclear yet whether the password game will take into account the fast-approaching change of the moon phase. The next full moon is expected to fall on Monday, July 3. However, for anyone playing at the start of next month, it will be easy enough to find the full moon emoji if prompted.
Find the waxing gibbous emoji
Fortunately for all the Password Game players out there, there is a waxing gibbous emoji available via Emojipedia.
This emoji was approved as part of Unicode 6.0 in 2010 under the name “Waxing Gibbous Moon Symbol.” In 2015, it was added to Emoji 1.0.
You will be able to find this emoji, as well as all of the other moon phases, in the nature section of your emoji list. It is the glowing moon which looks nearly fully illuminated, with just a sliver of darkness hanging on its left hand edge.
Password Game creator makes the rules purposefully challenging
If you’re thinking the Password Game creator knows they’ve created an infuriating puzzle, you’d be correct.
Neal Agarwal, the creative coder who has made the Password Game, shared that “there are rules in this game that ensure [he] will never see the pearly gates,” he joked on game release day.
The game was made public on Tuesday, June 27 and is available to play online.
