Douglas Bradford is serving his sentence of 26 years to life in prison for the 1979 killing of his ex-girlfriend Lynne Knight at the California Men’s Colony in San Luis Obispo.

Lynne was stabbed at least 15 times to death in her Torrance home in August 1979. He tried to strangle her using a homemade garrote before stabbing her.

He was thought to be a suspect by the authorities but due to lack of evidence, the case remained cold for decades. A turn came in 2007 with hte discovery of the wire.

He got arrested in 2009 after a wire was found in his mother’s garage which was linked to the one used to strangle Lynne in 1979.

He was convicted of first-degree murder in August 2014 and was sentenced to 26 years to life in prison.

Lynne Knight was a 28 years old Canadian-origin nurse in 1979. Lynne and Douglas had been in a relationship. She worked in Torrance, California.

Douglas was a student at Cal State Long Beach doing engineering when he killed his ex-girlfriend Lynne.
