Before Nancy Cartwright became a "Simpsons" mainstay, she voiced various characters on such programs as "Alvin and the Chipmunks," "My Little Pony 'n Friends," and "Pound Puppies," among others. Her subsequent success as Bart Simpson proved more than enough to hang her hat on, but that hasn't stopped her from giving other projects of all shapes and sizes a try. As a result, she has maintained a steady voice acting workload over the years, especially on the small screen. Thus, Cartwright is now one of the most prolific and recognizable voice actors to ever stand in front of a microphone.
Aside from Bart, Nancy Cartwright has added a few other iconic animated names to her résumé. Arguably the most famous is Chuckie Finster, whom she's voiced in various forms of "Rugrats" media for decades. Cartwright has also played the lovable naked mole-rat Rufus in the "Kim Possible" franchise, Pistol Pete from the Disney Channel favorite "Goof Troop," and Mindy of "Animaniacs" and "Pinky and the Brain" fame (via IMDb). That's just the tip of the iceberg, and it stands to reason that her list of notable works and roles will only continue to grow as time goes on.
So the next time you notice Bart Simpson ripping off one of his famous catchphrases (like, say, "eat my shorts"), just remember the woman behind the boy. But she's talented enough that you're likely to forget.
