A 33-year-old Davenport woman faces a felony charge after a child became unresponsive after ingesting a marijuana gummy, police allege in affidavits.

Alicia Townley faces a charge of child endangerment – bodily injury, court records show. She also faces a serious misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled substance – cannabidiol – first offense, court records show.

On Jan. 9, a child “went unresponsive in her presence” and was taken to Genesis Medical Center for treatment, police say in arrest affidavits, which show “The child was found to have marijuana intoxication.”

Townley, police allege, “did admit to detectives that she had a marijuana gummy” and believes the child got hold of it and ingested it, according to affidavits.

Police allege she put the child in a “substantial safety risk” by bringing drugs into a home and causing injury to the child, who required medical attention.

Townley, who has been released on bond, is set for a preliminary hearing Feb. 27 in Scott County Court.
