Controversy Senator Shah

In December 2022, ECP discovered Bibi Yasmeen’s fake degree and took immediate action. Yasmeen Shah was stripped of all political titles and privileges she received. However, the removal and withdrawal of all privileges is not the end. She had to undergo a trial in court. This happened because ECP registered and referenced the case in the District Court and Trial regarding her fake degree.

As the media unraveled the whole matter, a shocking truth emerged. ECP discovered that the certificate she submitted was fake. The bachelor’s degree certificate she submitted when she ran for senator in 2003 was fake.

The Shah was jailed

The five-member council formed decided against Yasmeen’s support and rescinded the announcement to make Yasmeen a senator. After all, said and done and the verdict passed, unfortunately, the circumstances were not in her favor.

According to local media, the trial punished Yasmeen Shah with a sentence of two years in prison. Soon after the verdict was made, Shah was detained by the police and transported out of town to serve a prison sentence. The day after the sentence was handed down, she was taken to Hyderabad District Jail, where she will serve two years of her sentence.

Not only this punishment is not enough. The court also ordered Yasmeen to pay a fine of 50,000 rupees. Higher authority members and Dr Fehmida Mirza, leader of the Great Democratic Alliance, have begun filing against her addition to her already very painful sentence.
