Yvie Oddly’s heath update: What happen to Drag Queen?
In interviews, drag artist and fashion designer Yvie Oddly, who lives in Denver, has said that she has a long-term illness.
Yvie Oddly, who is from Denver, Colorado, is an American drag queen, performer, fashion designer, rapper, and recording artist. In 2019, she won the eleventh season of RuPaul’s Drag Race.
In 2022, she came back to compete in the seventh season of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars, which was only for winners. She has been on the road since 2019 with Werq the World drag shows, which is strange.
In Yvie Oddly’s Oddities, a series on WOW Presents Plus, she explores what she thinks is the power of drag to change people through music videos and performances, as well as by turning thrift shop finds into wearable art. Her first album, called Drag Trap, came out in the year 2020.
Yvie’s Strange Illness and Health Status
The source says that drag queen Yvie Oddly has Ehlers-Danlos disease type 3 Hypermobile.
In July 2019, she was criticized for not posing for pictures after her shows because she said she needed to rest. She realized later that she had to put limits on herself. Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (hEDS), which runs in her family, causes her to be in pain all the time. Instead of taking a selfie after a show, she prefers to talk to people more.
Even though she won Drag Race, it took her a long time to figure out how to turn every part of her drag art into a business.
She also had to reevaluate her physical abilities to keep giving her fans a drag show while putting her body through a lot of physical stress during performances.
She has found a happy group of people with hEDS and other invisible disabilities. They call themselves “zebras” because they have illnesses that doctors don’t usually see. This is because of her high status.
The artist skips photo opportunities after the show in favor of more meaningful relationships. This is because her condition and the constant pain from her “bones grinding” leave her too tired to take pictures.

What Strange Thing Happened to Yvie?
After World of Wonder posted video of her energetic talent show performance on Friday (July 22), Yvie Oddly tweeted about how she deals with her Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos condition, which damages her connective tissue.
Even though she has what the Mayo Clinic calls “a group of inherited disorders that damage your connective tissues,” Yvie always keeps her head up. She hasn’t given up either.
People with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome may have thin skin, twisted ankles, and joints that are too flexible. The Mayo Clinic says that if a patient has a wound, it may be hard to stitch it up because “the skin is often not strong enough.”
In a similar way, the most common signs of Ehlers-Danlos syndrome are loose joints, fragile tissues, and skin that can stretch. Oddly told Out in an interview in 2019 that she had never wanted to talk about her illness on the show.
Yvie’s Ethnicity Explained
Yvie Oddly is a mix of Native Americans, Caucasians, and Black people. Oddly’s win is the latest in a long line of wins by black queer and trans people in drag pageants and leather competitions. This is a turning point for the LGBTQ community.
She thinks that gay people of color haven’t been given enough credit for what they’ve done for queer culture. She also says, “A lot has been said about my race, whether I’m Black or not, and whether colorism is at work or not.”
She decided to dress up because she was angry about how the LGBT community treated her because she is Black. She is the grandchild of Lauren Watson, who was the leader of the Denver Black Panthers, which is very unusual.
She does drag queen shows and is the drag sister of Willow Pill, who won the 14th season of RuPaul’s Drag Race. Yvie’s Instagram handle is @oddlyyvi. She uses it a lot and has more than 1 million people following her.
